Sallè was running her usual errands for her mother, selling food on the streets of Owerri, when a close female friend stopped by and introduced her brother to the singer.
Before the encounter on that fateful day, Salle's friend had told her sibling about the young lady's talent. However, he wanted to confirm in person.
"So if I play anything now...you will sing?", queried the inquisitive man. Salle convinced him that she could sing on any beat, so he played an instrumental and filmed her freestyle in a two-minute video that went viral on social media, marking the beginning of her rise to fame. The rest is history.
Born Peters Gospel Kosisochukwu in 2004, Sallè first ventured into music at 10 years old as a chorister in her church. She was not born with a silver spoon in her mouth, and, in the 17-year-old's words, "I went through a lot...after school, I would come back and help my mum sell food". Things were difficult, and she could barely have fun like her mates. Nevertheless, music was a positive affirmation for her.
"Music helped me heal, so I started writing them down. I do not write music with rhythm in my head; I just write down how I feel", she said, adding, "later I could just come up with a rhythm and attach it to it [the song]".
She described her upcoming single "Therapy" as her "whole story and emotions." On her video getting attention, she said, "I did not see the video going viral and people reposting, and people loving my sound. My huge gratitude goes to Mufasa Tunde Ednut. He told me directly that 'you are a star'...I'm working on a whole lot...It's taking time, but soon I'll be dropping something".
