Breaking: Davido donates ₦250 million to orphanages across Nigeria
Renowned Afrobeats artist – David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, as once again pulled off a remarkable philanthropic act, as he donates a whopping sum of ₦250 million to orphanage homes in Nigeria.
This statement was shown with proof on the well-loved singer's official Instagram and Twitter account, dated Friday, 19th November 2021, and was released to the public on Saturday, November 20th, 2021.
This is coming just two days after his friends and colleagues gifted him ₦200 million in appreciation for his good deeds in the entertainment industry and his birthday in advance. The Singer called them out on social media asking them to send him ₦1 million each, and so far, he has hit an account balance of ₦200 million (after reportedly opening it with Wema bank at just ₦0 in balance).
In addition to the ₦200 million Davido got from his well-wishers, he donated a personal sum of ₦50 million, totaling the entire donation to be distributed across orphanage homes in Nigeria to a staggering ₦250 million.
He further set up a five-person committee (consisting of dignitaries) to oversee the fair distribution of the money. He also promises to organize a fundraiser event every year in celebration of his birthday and subsequently, donates them all to the less privileged.
