Horrible moment a kid escaped being swallowed by hippopotamus while swimming

Watch the horrible moment a kid nearly got swallowed by a Hippopotamus while swimming in a river (video)

Three unidentified African children were captured live on camera in a river when an adult hippopotamus (with an average weight of 2,750kg) swam up to them.

The kids who seemed to have gone to the river to have a good time, bath and play, were shocked and disturbed when they noticed bubbles forming.

Immediately the kids saw the head of the hippo, they ran out as fast as they could in fear of ending up as a meal for the creature.

First posted on Tiktok, the video has garnered more than 800,000 views, causing stirs among social media users, with many even giving out precautions and steps to take in such a situation next time. Other people who have been in similar scenarios shared their stories and how they were fortunate to have escaped.

Note: The location of the river was undisclosed.

Hopefully, this would be a lesson to those who put their lives at high risk in an attempt to 'catch a cruise,' ignoring the end results of their actions.

According to experts, hippos can open their impressive jaws 150 to 180 degrees, generating 1800 PSI of biting force. This means they can attack and capsize boats and will not tolerate humans getting between them and the water.

This explains why hippos have been named the world's deadliest large land mammal, as the long swords (teeth) in their mouths are quick to bite someone simple-minded enough to tease their power and possibly devour the person.
