AGN: We'll Not Condone Blackmail of Our Members

Emeka Rollas

The President of The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has expressed anger over recent marital issues of famous Nollywood figures such as Annie Idibia, Tonto Dikeh and Nedu, which have become a free-for-all fight on social media.

Reacting via his Instagram handle on Friday, Emeka Rollas said the “events of the last few days have shown that actresses are now marked for blackmail especially hinging it on the basis of a relationship gone awry. But should it be a reason for publishing private conversations without the consent of the other party?"

He went further to declare that: “We shall use this one to set an example to serve as a deterrent to all other persons including bloggers presently profiling actresses for blackmail to have a rethink". Emeka Rollas has made it clear that the guild will no longer fold hands and watch as members are publicly ridiculed, and their privacy invaded.

There have been leaked audio conversations of the affected movie stars on social media, putting the parties involved in a bad light. Hence, Rollas has not only targeted his rage at privacy invaders but has also revealed that AGN would henceforth mete out deserving punishments on members who slam their colleagues on social media resulting in disharmony.
