Salawa Abeni
Queen Salawa Abeni is a veteran Nigerian singer and waka queen from Ogun state. Recall in April 2020, when she shocked the world by releasing nude pictures of herself rather than paying a ransom to an unknown blackmailer.
The blackmailer had earlier messaged the waka queen on WhatsApp, revealing he had her nude pictures. She posted the messages and photos the blackmailer sent to her to avoid any form of bully from anyone.
The blackmailer was later reported to be a 19-year-old University student named Oladunjoye Emmanuel from Magboro, Ogun state. After being fished out by the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), despite breaking his sim card and throwing away his phone into the river, he said he picked a memory card on the floor in Yabatech, which contained nude pictures of the famous waka singer.
He said he only intended to extort money from her by negotiating with her and then destroying the photographs because she was a public figure.
Small Doctor
On August 27, 2017, Nigerian music artist – Temitope Adekunle, popularly known as Small Doctor made headlines after a video of him masturbating was leaked online. The leaked video shows the Agege-born entertainer stroking his manhood with one hand while recording the immoral act with his other hand.
When he was questioned about the unethical act he pulled during an interview, he responded, "My Snapchat account was hacked, and that is all I can say".
Toke Makinwa
In April 2020, Nigerian radio personality and television host Toke Makinwa raised the alarm over plans to blackmail her with her purported unclad photos. An unidentified person demanded money from the socialite and threatened to release her pictures if she didn't pay up. However, it turned out to be photoshopped images of Toke in a swimsuit. It is safe to say the blackmailer didn't get a dime.
Tonto Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh appears not to have much luck in dating and is still battling issues with her ex-boyfriend. After getting her former lover arrested, the actress revealed that he threatened her
with her sex tapes and claimed that he had over 30 videos of different women in his possession.
Jane Mena
Famous dancer, Jane Mena, became a topic of discussion after actress Tonto Dikeh claimed her
ex-boyfriend had several videos of himself sleeping with Jane. Jane vehemently denied the
claims and even dared Tonto to release the said clips. However, shortly after that, an audio
recording of the actress' ex-lover attesting to sleeping with the married dancer took over social
media like a wildfire.
Tacha
Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Anita Natacha Ah-key-day, popularly known as Tacha,
also on April 21, 2020, stated through her lawyer that someone was trying to blackmail her with photoshopped nude pictures.
Shatta Wale (Ghanaian)
In 2018, a video showing two guys receiving mouth gigs from an unknown fair lady (later revealed) went viral. It was alleged that the Ghanian reggae-dancehall artist and his friend Natty Lee GH were in the video.
Many don't know that the video was uploaded on Snapchat by Shatta Wale himself. Crazy right? Minutes after he posted it for fun, he deleted it. Unknown to him, the snap had already been recorded by some people, and the video went viral.
However, after bloggers and critics threw jabs at the singer for performing such a nefarious act, he dragged them, asking if they've not seen someone collecting head before and why are they so concerned about it. Due to this indecency, President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana unfollowed him on all his social media pages.
