2021 BBNaija winner – Whitemoney, has been officially inducted into the Nollywood industry by AGN
Winner of the 2021 Big Brother Naija ‘Shine Ya Eye’ edition – Hazel Oyeye Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, has just been inaugurated as a member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
The 29-year-old was inducted in his hometown in Udi, Enugu State as an official member of Nollywood actors in Nigeria. In case you didn't know, the Actors Guild of Nigeria is an umbrella union that regulates the affairs of film actors in Nigeria and abroad.
The body which is currently headed by Emeka Rollas who has been serving as president since August 22, 2017, presented Whitemoney with a membership certificate and identification card today.
The event saw dignitaries such as; Brown Ene (Enugu state Chairman of AGN), Chief Chika Okpala (Chief Zebrudaya ), Steve Eboh (SSA to the National President on Military Affairs & other governmental agencies), Cynthia Okereke, Stan Amadi, Chief Mrs. Chinwe Owoh, Benson Okonkwo and other Exco members of AGN Enugu grace the occasion.
Newly elected coordinators and executives were also sworn-in and one of the executives of the committee, said; “What these people have shown is that ‘we are interested in the creative economy’. I will give you the key to unlock the creative economy.”
This is in tandem with Rollas’ vision of his administration in expanding and empowering Nollywood practitioners.
Hopefully, once the designer shoe importer, businessman and former Big Brother Naija housemate/winner begins to feature in movies, he'll become an household name like other contemporary Nigerian acts, as he's only a step away in receiving a ‘Film Icon’ award.
