A Nigerian pastor, Olatobiloba Peters, claims late Prophet T.B. Joshua did not make it to heaven. Peters told Daily Post Nigeria that Joshua's powers were not from God and, for that reason, he is suffering in hell. The post quoted him as saying, "God showed me in a revelation of the night that Temitope Joshua did not make it to heaven...because the powers he was using were not from God, this is what was revealed to me."
The cleric's statement comes on the heels of a similar allegation made by a Ugandan Pastor, Jackson Senyonga, who labelled Joshua a witch. In Senyonga's words, "Prophet TB Joshua in Nigeria has died...he had a following of one million people, yet he is fake". The Ugandan cleric emphasized to his congregation that he is pleased with Joshua's death because the late prophet "destroyed so many lives."

In a similar tone, Household of God Church pastor Chris Okotie shared a cryptic post on Facebook two days after Joshua's passing. According to Okotie, "the Wizard of Endor who assumed the title Emmanuel has been consumed by divine indignation." And now his disciples bewail his ignominious exit." Although Okotie did not explicitly mention any names, his message appeared to be a shade to T.B Joshua, who perpetually mentioned the name "Emmanuel" in his preachings.
While other pastors have followed suit, prominent religious leaders, like Pastor Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo, have kept mum. In fact, the Christian Association of Nigeria was called out for not acknowledging the preacher's death. However, the religious body released a statement 72 hours later, essentially asserting that Joshua's demise came with "great shock and sorrow." The late pastor was surrounded by many controversies during his lifetime, mainly due to the miracles he purportedly performed and his prophecies, some of which never came to pass.

My husband's death not surprising - Joshua's wife
TB Joshua's wife, Evelyn Joshua, has stated that the death of her husband did not come as a shock. While receiving delegates from Lagos state governor Sanwo Olu and Christ Apostolic Church pastor Samuel Abiara, on a condolence visit, Evelyn made it clear that "what happened was an act of God." Dressed in all-black attire as a sign of mourning, the widow stressed that "there is time for everything." She concluded by explaining that burial arrangements for the late televangelist would be announced soon.
