Francis Osedume, the Special Adviser on Student Affairs to Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has been arrested for attempting to defraud the State Government of 14 million Naira.

According to Sahara Reporters, Mr Francis Osedume attempted to steal N14 million from the State Government by forging the signature of one of his superiors, Jerry Ehiwarior.
After allegedly stealing some files of the Senior Special Adviser (SSA), he needed the signature of his superior, Mr Jerry, who is the SSA to the Government. Because he got the files through an illegal route, he could not get the signature of his superior. He, therefore, resorted to forging the needed signature.
During the process of verification by the governor, SR reported, Mr Francis was exposed and arrested.
This may not be his first time being caught up in fraud-related cases.
Sources familiar with the matter also disclosed that Osedume was fired from his job at Union Bank after forging the signature of a S.U.G executive of his former school, Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic. But it's not just that. Mr Francis was also expelled from the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture for fraud-related cases.
“The case is currently with the Department of State Services, Delta State Command. Before now, the former S.A. Students, Francis, stole the files of the SSA, and that was when the forgery happened”, the source said.
A senior official added that Osedume was exposed after sending a letter containing the forged signature to the governor. Per sections 467 and 468 of the Nigerian constitution, the SSA is liable to imprisonment for three years if found guilty.
