NBBF dedicates wins over Argentina and USA to Sound Sultan

The Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) has dedicated D'Tiger's victories over Argentina and the USA to the late Sound Sultan.

D'Tigers surprised the basketball-verse after triumphing over top basketball teams, Argentina's Argentine Soul and USA's basketball team, in the pre-Olympic games.

The final scorelines were 94-71 against Argentina's basketball team and 90-87 against the US'. Following the victories, Nigeria's basketball Federation decided to dedicate them to the late Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan. They wrote on their social media page:

“We dedicate the victories against US & Argentina to late Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan).”

Recall that President Buhari called the late singer an 'avid' basketball fan who has contributed to the advancement of the sport in the country. This does not come as a surprise as the singer has always commented on basketball activities in the country.

Late Olanrewaju Fasasi lost his life to Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, which affects the human body's lymphatic system. The news of his death was made public on Sunday 11th July by his relative, Kayode Fasisi.

He was also buried on the same day in New Jersey, USA, per Islamic doctrines. An Instagram live session of the deceased was held by Yinka Lawanson (Lamboginny), showing how the "Mathematics" crooner was laid to rest.
