Media houses in Nigeria reported on Wednesday that social networking platform, Instagram, took down the account of Adamu Garba. People's gazette, which was the first to break the news, reported that Garba's account was deleted "after multiple users reported his page". However, checks by HotNaija show that Adamu Garba's page is still intact as of the time of filing this report. The ex-presidential aspirant confirmed the reports on his Facebook account, insinuating that an Instagram ban "could happen to anyone for voicing out contrary opinions". The purported ban comes two days after his app, Crowwe, was removed from Google Play Store. Although reports suggested that the app was deleted by Google, Garba indicated his company requested the removal because "they are having challenges regarding the aggregation of the contact list". However, his explanations did not fly with Nigerians, with many noting that an app does not need to be removed before it is updated.
Garba has been in the news for controversial reasons, the most prominent one being his $1 billion lawsuit against Twitter and its CEO, Jack Dorsey.
