TB Joshua's wife set to become next church leader, reports say

If media reports are anything to go by, then Evelyn, the wife of late TB Joshua, is set to become the next general overseer of the Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN). Because the church no longer has a leader, there have been so many questions left unanswered. As soon as his death was confirmed by the Synagogue Church, thousands of people, most of whom are his followers, flocked to his church the following morning. However, according to Sahara Reporters' journalists at the scene, everyone who tried to enter the building was denied access. Hundreds of them were sick people who wanted to get healed even though the cleric was no more. "It is because of him I'm alive," one woman wailed. Tanzanian news outlet "The Citizen" quoted a top aide saying that "none of the [SCOAN] pastors was trained to succeed him", suggesting that Joshua's wife would take over.

Tributes pour in for T.B Joshua.

Tributes poured in for T.B Joshua from notable people, including President Buhari, Femi Fani Kayode, Dele Momodu, Rotimi Akeredolu, and Goodluck Jonathan. Prominent personalities from outside Nigeria also sent their condolences to Joshua's family.

Woman "correctly predicts" T.B. Joshua's death.

A Nigerian woman, "Anwar Thee Memer," caused a stir on Facebook after a post she made on February 18th, 2021, showed how she purportedly predicted T.B. Joshua's death. "TB Joshua is gonna [die] on the 5th June 2021", her post read. However, it turned out that she had edited the post to make it seem like she was a soothsayer.

Who will be the next general overseer of the Synagogue?

For now, no one knows. In most cases, Nigerian pastors select the person who will take over from them when they die while still alive. Nevertheless, it is possible that the preacher's wife would continue where he stopped, and a new leader may be chosen in the future.
