Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu: Super TV CEO's alleged killer 'may be rusticated' from UNILAG

Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, the 21-year-old alleged killer of Super Television Nigeria's CEO, Michael Usifo Ataga, may be rusticated from the University of Lagos, Punch reported on Saturday. The newspaper cited several UNILAG officials as saying the suspect, a 300 level mass communication student at the institution, would most likely not escape suspension. The fact that she confessed to committing the crime on video, the Punch reports, is enough reason for her to be expelled from the university. 

The report comes a day after HotNaija reported that Micheal Ataga was last seen alive with Chidinma at a restaurant in Lagos. Surveillance video obtained by this publication showed the couple chatting before exiting the eatery. Following the arrest and parade of Chidinma, the Lagos state police spokesman announced that several items, including a fake ID, were recovered, adding "she had collaborators who are still at large".

The suspect's father, who reportedly tried to block policemen from arresting her, was also detained but was later released. The 50-year-old Michael Ataga founded Super TV as a platform to showcase movies and entertainment-related titles in 2014. His wife, Brenda Ataga, is reportedly a managing director and the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC). Ataga's death has been a trending topic on social media since he was declared missing on June 13.
