T.B. Joshua was told by God that he was going to die, according to the Late televangelist's church, SCOAN. On Sunday morning, a statement released on Joshua's official page quoted the prophet as saying there is "time for everything – time to come here for prayer and time to return home after the service". But before that, the statement mentioned that "the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets," basically implying that Joshua was indeed aware that he would die.
HotNaija reported the story when it first broke. Prophet T.B Joshua was already sick and, reportedly, flew to Turkey two months ago to treat stroke. Although the management of SCOAN never revealed what really killed their founder, HotNaija understands that it may not be unrelated to stroke. Already looking frail due to his deteriorating condition, Pastor Joshua announced that he does not wish for a lavish 58th birthday, adding that he would rather have his church members fast and pray. Two days later -- Saturday, June 5th -- Joshua held a meeting with Emmanuel TV partners and, unfortunately, that would be the last time he was seen alive, at least on TV. The controversial pastor fell seriously ill again that night, but he gave up the ghost while he was being taken to the hospital. His body was later moved to the morgue in Isolo, according to Sahara Reporters. T.B Joshua has been in the midst of so many controversies, the most recent one being his Youtube Channel getting terminated after he claimed to cure gay people. Joshua established the Synagogue Church of All Nations in 1987 and rose to fame in the 1990s.
Several religious leaders have mourned the fiery preacher. Prophet Bushiri, who is just as controversial, penned a heartfelt tribute to Joshua on Facebook. "In your rest, General, I celebrate your mission: you came, you preached, you touched souls and you demonstrated to the world that God is still speaking today.", Bushiri wrote.
