Multichoice announces BBNaija season 6's start date

Multichoice has announced the start date of the long-awaited reality TV show BBNaija season 6.

In a press conference held on Monday, the show organizers released the premiere date and hinted at some possible changes in the new season.

The sixth season of Big Brother Naija commences with two opening ceremonies on July 24 and July 25, 2021.

The housemates and rules to be followed will be announced during the opening ceremonies. COVID-19 preventive measures will be strictly observed during the opening ceremonies as no guests will be featured.

Multichoice also gave an exciting update during the conference: This season will not make use of the SMS voting method.

With this update, the decision-making process in the show will no longer be limited to Nigerians. In other words, foreign observers will be able to fully participate in the show.

The effect of such a decision will see a surge in voting numbers.

One question that may come to mind is if the show is still meant for only Nigerians. The latest decision reflects the position of Multichoice on the issue.

One may also ask if it's the right thing to do by letting those who can't relate to the Nigerian culture take part in the decision-making process of a Nigerian show.

Fans of the show will seek to find answers to these disturbing questions when it commences.

The show is expected to run for 72 days. By October 3, the show's winner will be announced and awarded N90 million worth of prizes.
